• Purpose: 
    To assist the principal in providing effective educational leadership for the purpose of improving classroom instruction and to provide for the effective organization and administration of his/her school. 

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

    • Special Education liason for the building. Represent the District by serving as the LEA at all IEP/504 Plan meetings
    • Coordinate Special Education case-loads with case-managers and work with all related service providers to ensure teams are meeting the needs of all students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
    • Work with the School Psychologist in the coordination of the Problem Solving Team (PST) for the purpose of gathering data, monitoring student progress and achievement, and evaluation of educational plans
    • Work with the School Psychologist to ensure the Response to Intervention (RtI) model is running smoothing in each building. Together we monitor Tier 1 instruction for all students (core curriculum) and Tier 2/Tier 3 interventions for students needing additional support (reading, writing, math).  Organize benchmarking 3 times of year to all students in the areas of reading and math.  Oversee progress monitoring for all students receiving Tier 2/Tier 3 interventions
    • Creates a rotating schedule where each  grade level Learning Team (Data Team) can meet with the Problem Solving Team (PST) to articulate on students strengths,  needs, and progress.  Teams also meet with our Early Childhood and Cross Categorical teams on a regular basis to focus on student needs
    • Contribute to the Professional Learning Community (Leadership Teams)
    • Member of our Building Leadership Team (BLT). The Lead works closely with the  building principal and grade level Team Leaders to create, implement, and monitor our building's School Improvement Plan (SIP)
    • Maintain high standards of student conduct and assist in enforcing discipline as necessary, according to due process of students
    • Cooperate with staff members to assist in the resolution of parent/student/teacher issues
    • In conjunction with the principal and Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, assist with the development and implementation of professional development programs
    • Support curriculum development and curriculum implementation
    • In conjunction with the building Health Clerk, monitor building and District attendance records and with County agencies for the purpose of determining chronic absenteeism
    • Coordinate the assessment program(s) in the building
    • In conjunction with the building principal, plan and supervise fire drills and any emergency preparedness programs
    • Coordinate character education "Celebration of Me" assemblies
    • Attend professional development workshops and/or district-sponsored training
    • Assist the principal in scheduling support staff assignments and conducting monthly meetings with support staff
    • Work closely with the Arbor food service staff to ensure lunch/cafeteria schedule runs smoothly
    • Assist in assuring the implementation and observance of all Board policies and regulations by the school's staff and students
