About William L. Thompson School
William L. Thompson School opened its’ doors in the fall of 1999! Our school was named after the late 'Bill' Thompson who was a life-long educator and resident of Lake Villa and then later Antioch, Illinois. Bill's wife, La Verne, continues to volunteer on a weekly basis within our kindergarten and reading resource programs.
Our school houses 630 early childhood through sixth grade students. In addition to the core curriculum, students participate in art, library, music, and physical education class. We are proud of all of our students! It’s magical to see them learn and grow!
From the Principal
I would like to welcome all of our past, current, and potential William L. Thompson students and families to our school website! We are excited to be opening our school doors this fall for the 21st school year!
I strive to ensure that our students receive a balanced education with a focus on meeting students’ social emotional as well as their individual academic needs. During the upcoming year our students will be focusing on becoming leaders both within our school and community. Students will learn about Stephen and Sean Covey’s ‘7 Habits of Highly Effective People.’ The 7 habits are researched-based traits for both children and adults alike.
The staff and I look forward to another successful school year! As always, it’s an honor and a privilege to serve the students and families of Thompson School.
Mrs.Lauren Crowley, Principal
