Dear Military Families,
Welcome to our school community. We are truly honored to have your family join us and grateful for the service and sacrifices you make for our country. We recognize that military life brings both unique strengths and unique challenges—especially when it comes to transitions—and we are committed to ensuring your child feels supported, connected, and successful from day one.
Our school proudly aligns with the goals of the Illinois State Board of Education Purple Star School Program, a statewide initiative designed to support military-connected students. This program recognizes schools that take intentional steps to ease transitions and provide consistent academic and social-emotional support for military families.
We understand that frequent moves can impact learning, friendships, and a sense of belonging. That is why we are dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where your child can thrive. At our school, you can expect:
A Dedicated Point of Contact: We have a staff member specifically available to support military families and assist with any questions or needs you may have.
Seamless Transitions: We work to ensure smooth enrollment, appropriate course placement, and continuity of services in alignment with the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children.
Student-Led Support: Our student ambassadors help welcome new students, offering peer connections and guidance during transitions.
Staff Training: Our educators are equipped with professional learning to better understand and respond to the needs of military-connected students.
Family Resources: We maintain resources and information to help you navigate our school and community with ease.
Meaningful Recognition: We honor military families through events, activities, and opportunities that celebrate your service and contributions.
Beyond these supports, our greatest priority is ensuring that your child feels a strong sense of belonging. We believe that relationships are at the heart of a successful school experience, and we are committed to building those connections with your family.
If there is anything we can do to support your transition, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to listen, partner, and walk alongside you every step of the way.
Welcome to our school family—we are so glad you are here.
With gratitude and respect,
Lake Villa District 41
