April Newsletter

Dear Palombi families:

This month we are working hard to demonstrate the outstanding implementation of our Leader in Me program by our students and staff. We have applied for Lighthouse Certification and will be going through the process with Franklin Covey on Tuesday, April 30th. Lighthouse Certification is a recognition awarded to schools that have successfully implemented the Leader in Me program and demonstrated outstanding results in student leadership, culture, and academics. Lighthouse Certification is a prestigious recognition that signifies the school's commitment to student leadership and excellence.

We are looking for parents willing to volunteer 20 minutes of their time to participate in the Lighthouse Review on Tuesday, April 30th. This would include answering questions about your perception of how the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and our leadership opportunities have benefitted your student(s). Please reach out to Mrs. Melissa Rhodes, Dean of Culture and Student Discipline (mrhodes@district41.org) if you are interested in participating in the parent panel.

MRA Survey

As part of our implementation process and drive for continuous improvement, our school will be conducting surveys to learn more about key areas of strength and areas of needed growth.

If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete a survey (without sharing your name or other identifying information) that will be available through the web link below. The survey is completely voluntary, but we do hope to get feedback from one member of every household.

The parent/guardian survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and their experience in our school. If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child's experiences as you answer questions related to their growth. An email will be sent out on April 15th with the link.

Thank you!

Angela Sisi

You can discuss this habit with your student(s) by having conversations around the following bullet points:
