Ms. Staver’s 3rd graders took their learning to the next level by stepping out of their seats and into the hallway! Working in cooperative groups, our Heroes moved along the third-grade hall to solve math problems posted on the walls.
After tackling every challenge together, they headed back to the classroom to check their work, double-check for accuracy, and practice true peer collaboration.

By earning rewards that support our Hooper community, our 5th graders are making a real impact—from sharing lunch with special Hooper staff members to visiting former teachers like Ms. Staver to lead read-alouds for younger students!
There is nothing quite like seeing our older students return to past classrooms to mentor and inspire the next generation of learners. We are so proud of our 5th graders for their outstanding leadership, kindness, and dedication to our school! 👏✨

Our Hooper Heroes took on The Hovercraft Project, spending an incredible day building, testing, and actually riding full-sized hovercrafts!
This immersive STEM adventure was all about discovery—learning how individual strengths make a team stronger and proving that with collaboration, they can accomplish hard things. This experience showed our Hooper Heroes the power of teamwork, perseverance, and recognizing their own value. When students know their unique strengths and work together, there’s no limit to what they can build!
We are so proud of our young innovators and can’t wait to see how high they soar!
Our Hooper Hero Kindergartners are busy working through hands-on centers to reinforce their learning in Unit 1. Students are partnering up to practice foundational skills like counting groups up to 10, recognizing small sets up to 4 without counting, and asking "are there enough?" questions.
We love watching our young mathematicians explore, talk, and grow every day!

Our Hooper staff joined forces with fellow District 41 team members to serve up smiles (and fries!) at McDonald's to raise funds for our amazing PTO and students!
From taking orders to working the drive-thru, our staff demonstrated what it truly means to Lead, Learn, and Serve in our community. A huge thank you to all the families and community members who came out to support our school and enjoy a meal together!

Our first Deal Day was a huge success! Students across grade levels partnered up for a powerful lesson on Perseverance—a core foundation of building a growth mindset both at school and at home.
Through collaborative activities, our Heroes explored what it truly means to:
Keep trying your best, even when things get tough or frustrating
Believe that your brain grows stronger and smarter through practice and effort
Turn "I can't do this" into "I can't do this yet!"
We are so proud of how our older and younger students encouraged each other, worked through challenges, and modeled grit in action. Keep shining, Hooper Heroes! 💪📚✨

What an incredible year it has been. We wrapped up our elementary journey in the best way possible with a fun class picnic, our annual awards ceremony, and a celebratory parade! 🏆🎈

Wow, what an incredible day! We couldn't have asked for better weather, and our Hooper Heroes brought 100% of the energy. From the relay races to the laughs, today was all about fun, teamwork, and making memories.

🌟 Career Day Was a Massive Success! 🌟
A huge THANK YOU to all of our incredible presenters who made Career Day at Hooper Elementary School an unforgettable experience! Our students had an amazing time exploring different paths, asking brilliant questions, and getting a glimpse into their futures.
From saving lives to designing technology, creating art, and keeping our communities safe, we are so grateful to the professionals who invested their time in our students.
Hooper’s 5th Grade Science Night was an out-of-this-world success! Our student engineers showed off their custom-built rockets, experimented with balloon rockets, and mastered the physics of paper airplane flight. 🎈✈️
It was a night full of "Aha!" moments and high-flying fun. We are so proud of our young scientists for their hard work and curiosity!

Hooper Elementary had a fantastic field trip to the Lake Villa District Library. Our students got an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at how our neighborhood library works—from how books are sorted to where the magic happens behind the front desk.
We are so lucky to have such an amazing resource right in our backyard! A big thank you to the librarians for hosting our curious explorers.
Our Hooper Elementary students had an incredible visit from Animal Quest today. From scaly reptiles to furry friends, our 3rd graders got an up-close look at some amazing creatures and learned all about their habitats and unique traits.
